On October 23rd, the 3rd Forum on Education Cooperation with ASEAN Countries was held at Haikou University of Economics, lasting two days. President Yang Lanying and leaders from the International Affairs Office, the College of Literature and the College of Social Development and Management attended the forum. About 50 participants from ten countries offered their ideas and suggestions in order to strengthen the cooperation and exchange in education, culture and economy.
At the beginning of the symposium, leaders from the Royal Consulate General of Cambodia in Haikou and Singapore China Association successively shared their new ideas and opinions on promoting education cooperation with ASEAN countries. President Yang Lanying delivered a keynote speech titled Thoughts on International Exchange and Cooperation among the Local Higher Institutions on the Basis of Belt and Road Initiative. She introduced the efforts of Hunan Women’s University to establish platforms to train innovative talents with international perspectives, and our methods and experiences of continuous exploring cross-cultural exchange. More than ten keynote speeches were given by experts and scholars from related higher institutions and organizations such as Center for Higher Education Development of Xiamen University and Higher Education Research Institute of Beijing Normal University. The delegation also attended the opening ceremony of the Numismatic Museum of Haikou University of Economics, the first one inside a university in Hainan province.
After the symposium, President Yang Lanying had profound exchange and discussion on international cooperation with Huang Wanda, consul general of the Royal Consulate General of Cambodia in Haikou, and Zhang Liang, President of Malaysia and China Education Development Association.
