On the evening of August 30th, teachers and students returning to HWU after visiting Malaysia marked the complete success of HWU`s study tour program in Malaysia organized by International Education Center. From August 21 to August 30, a delegation of 10 members paid a 10-day visit to Kuala Lumpur and Malacca in Malaysia and carried on a series of cultural exchange activities.<?xml:namespace prefix = o />
The study tour delegation led by Ms. Liu Chao from International Center has 9 student members who are strictly picked out from various departments of HWU. During the 10 days, the delegation was warmly welcome by the teachers and students of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA). The students lived in the dormitory and get along with the local teachers and students closely.
When the delegation arrived in UPM, Dr Husniyah Abd.Rahim, dean of Human Ecology gave us a heartfelt welcome and an introduction to the general situation, infrastructure, campus administration, teaching & research, student activity and so on. After that teachers and students from two universities had a free and friendly communication to explore cooperation in academic exchange and talent training. After the meeting, Dr. Zatul Himmah Adnan of Human Ecology Department gave the delegation a wonderful lecture about the political system of Malaysia.

Later after, the delegation was invited to visit UniSZA to have classes with the students from the English Department. Accompanied by some local students, the delegation then paid a visit to the library as well as the dormitory and enjoyed the night scenery to experience the alien charms.
Picture 2: Delegation in the Class Together with Students of UniSZA During the study tour, the delegation paid a visit to the modern city Kuala Lumpur where they visited the palace, the Petronas Twin Towers, the National Mosque, administration center, the National Museum. Moreover, they also called on the Elepahant Orphan Protection Center, Batu Caves, Redang and Malacca etc. In this way, they got acquainted with the history, culture, religion, education and geology etc of Malaysia and their outlook had been broadened. Picture 3: In the Elephant Orphan Protection Center Before this study tour in Malaysia, students of HWU together with students from the Law School and Marxism School of Hunan University participated in the reception activities of students from University of Malaya (UM) Malaysia. The students accompanied students and teachers of UM to go shopping in the supermarket, take a Changsha bus, visit Martyr Park, Shaoshan Mountain, Yuelu Mountain and Huogong Palace in order to experience the city life and traditional Chinese culture and understand part of the Chinese history. They were very impressed by the elegance, carefulness, versatility of our students. The diverse and multi level exchange activities between universities of two countries not only enhance the friendship and cooperation of HWU and universities of Malaysia, but also show the achievements of HWU’s talent training and broaden the international influence of Hunan Women’s University.
