With the development of international exchange between colleges and universities of Malaysia and our University, we have successively sent a large number of students to universities of Malaysia. On April 9^th, 2014, a delegation of 17 students from the University of Malaya came to HWU for exchange. This is the first time for HWU to receive a student delegation from abroad.

       At 10:00, the welcoming meeting held on the Second Floor of the Office Building was presided over by Gao Qinli, director of the Foreign Affairs Office. Those who participated in the meeting included Xiong Li, deputy director of the International Education Center, Ms. Liu Li, professor of the Department of Literature and Media   and the working staff of the Foreign Affairs Office and the International Education Center. In the meeting, we expressed our warmest welcome to the delegation and gave an introduction to the history and characteristics of our university. Then, we led them to have a tour to the Exhibition Hall of Art Design and the Exhibition Hall of Women’s Education Development. In the noon, they had lunch in the Muslim canteen on the South Campus with teachers and students of HWU to experience the culture of our university.

In the afternoon, Professor Zhou Liqun from the Department of Art Design gave the student a wonderful speech of Costume and Etiquette in China in the Chorus and Conducting Classroom on the south campus. Ms. Zhou gave a detailed introduction to the features of the costume and etiquette in the Tang, Ming and Qing Dynasties etc. She also integrated the traditional costume elements with modern costume tailor and matching art. In the class, Ms. Zhou invited the Malaysian students from time to time to be models of the costumes made by herself. She showed them the flexibility and abundance of Chinese costumes. The students were very active and attentive in class. In the end, they gave Ms. Zhou a big round of applause.

The University of Malaya, the top university in the Malaysian ranking, is the most well-known comprehensive university of art, science and medicine with the longest history. In 2012 and 2013, delegation of teachers and students of our university went to this university for exchange and study. It was also the first time for the students of the University of Malaya to visit our university for exchange.
