"Moon Ladies" of HWU Sing the "Toast Song of Yi Nationality" on the CCTV Stage
At 19:30 on the evening of August 29, the "Moon Ladies" group of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Music Team of the Music and Art College of Hunan Women’s University(HWU) sang the "Toast Song of Yi Nationality" in the "Folk Songs in China" program of CCTV Music Channel (CCTV 15), presenting a gift to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
The "Moon Ladies" group is one of the intangible cultural heritage teams set up by Ms. Zhang Xiaojiao, a young staff member of the college. They are from the Han, Bulang, Tujia and Dong nationalities. The members of the "Moon Ladies" are the teachers and students of the Music and Dance College, including lecturer Zhang Xiaojiao, Xu Huanjia, a student majoring in music performance admitted in 2019, Ma Wen, Wang Simin, and Shi Xinye, students majoring in musicology admitted in 2020. The wonderful performance of the group on CCTV not only shows the good spirit of our teachers and students, but also embodies the educational and teaching achievements of the college and the quality of training high-quality practical talents.
In recent years, the Music and Dance College of HWU has deepened the education and teaching reform, and constantly strengthened the practical teaching in order to actively serve the local culture, and promote the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage. The college has adhered to the "three combination" characteristic training mode of stage and platform, inside and outside the college, and inside and outside the classroom, with remarkable results. The Intangible Cultural Heritage Team's "The Story of Apprenticeship" was once reported on the front page of Guangming Daily and "Toast Song of Yi Nationality" was one of their achievements.
It is reported that "Folk Songs China" is the only Chinese folk song art program that displays China's original folk songs. (Written by Li Wenting from the Music and Dance College and translated by Long Min from the International Affairs Office )
