This academic conference was held in Xiamen University from October 14th to 16th, aiming at promoting the research and practical exploration of modern university system with Chinese characteristics. Under the auspices of Society for Research into Higher Education of CAHE, it was attended by over 300 leaders from colleges and universities as well as experts specializing in the administration in higher education, which had the theme of “Implement National Education Outline, and Improve Modern University System with Chinese Characteristics.”

HWU President Luo Ting attended the standing council meeting on the evening of October 14th, and delivered a speech named “The Construction of Modern Culture in Universities to Foster Female Talents for Innovation” on the afternoon of October 15th. Drawing from successful school-running experience and based on the status of cultivating the innovative female talents in China, President Luo expounded incisively and thoroughly the ways of building modern culture in universities to foster innovative female talents from five aspects, including the development of advanced gender culture, the establishment of favorable academic culture, the construction of suitable teaching culture, the cultivation of innovative association culture as well as the building of human-oriented administration culture, which evoked enthusiastic repercussions.

With various characteristics like distinct theme, prominent achievements and numerous representatives etc., this conference displayed the latest achievements of exploring modern university system with Chinese characteristics, in which the representatives combined relevant theories with the administrative practices as well as the status of establishing modern university system in China and conducted in-depth explications and comprehensive communication from diverse aspects.
