<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Hunan Provincial Civil Etiquette Research Center was approved as by Hunan Provincial Leading Group of Philosophy and the Social Sciences and the Publicity Department of the Committee of Hunan Province C.C.P. in January 2007. It is the sole social science research center involved in the study of etiquette and home economics in China.

The guiding theory of the construction of the research center: The research center should stick to the principle of “Developing Advantages, Condensing Characteristics and Integrating Resources for Sustainable Development ” according the Deng Xiaoping Theory, the important thoughts of “Three Represents" and the requirements of construction and development put forward by Hunan Provincial Leading Group of Philosophy and the Social Sciences and the Publicity Department of the Committee of Hunan Province C.C.P. The research center will start from the research of etiquette and home economics and center on the improvement of the qualities of Chinese citizens, with the emphasis on exploring the theories, methods and basic laws of etiquette and home economics and conducting related theoretical research, education and training to achieve a balance in scientific research and teaching, as well as theory and practice.

Target of the construction of the research center: The center will connect closely the theories of civil etiquette qualities and the practical problems to solve the hot and difficult problems in the research of the etiquette qualities of the Chinese citizens. It will commit itself to the explanation and research of the etiquette qualities of the current Chinese citizens step by step in a planned, complete and systematic way, and make great efforts to obtain some research achievements with certain influences. It also aims to nurture some influential scholars and advantageous disciplines at the provincial or national level through continuous construction of the research center.
