Hunan Provincial Higher Education Discipline (Women’s Education) Center, established in September 2008, is one of the educational centers authorized by Hunan Provincial Leading Group Office of Educational and Scientific Planning. With consideration of the disciplines and programs of Hunan Women’s University, it mainly focuses on the research of such three fields as women’s education in Hunan, the characteristics of women’s universities, and women’s education of innovation, entrepreneurship and mental health, according to the principle of “Condensing Characteristics, Integrating Resources, Developing Advantages and Ensuring Quality”. Centering on the three research fields, it aims to conduct teaching, researching and practical promotion in the meantime from the angle of social gender and by the method of analysis, and build the platform for women’s education to enter the mainstream of social science research and discipline construction. It will commit itself to create a new situation of women’s education in Hunan and promote the development of women’s education and research in China.
