On the morning of August 11^th,2015, a three-person delegation headed by Ms. Hisako nishimura, President of the Parliament of Shiga, Japan paid a visit to HWU escorted by Du Yaling, Chairperson of Hunan Women’s Federation, and Qiu Aihua, Deputy Director of the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Hunan Province. The university officials including Luo Ting, Chair of the University Council, President Yang Lanying and Vice President Zhou Meilin accompanied the delegation.

The meeting was hosted by Du Yaling, Chairperson of Hunan Women’s Federation. On behalf of HWU, Luo Ting delivered a warm welcome speech. She reviewed the historical origin of the friendship between Hunan and Shiga and her amazing experience of visiting Shiga in 2000, introduced the history of women’s schools at home and abroad and the significant role of women’s education in Hunan played in the cultivation of women talents in China, and the characteristics, talent training and open education of HWU. She also expressed the idea to promote the development of women's education by the joint efforts of the women both in Japan and China. In the end, she sent Ms. Hisako nishimura a book with the name of The Study on the Strategies of Developing Women's Institutions whose editor-in-chief was herself.

President Yang Lanying made an introduction about the conceptions, objectives, achievements, disciplines, programs, curricula and unique culture of HWU. She also briefed on the exchange activities conducted by HWU and Seisen University as well as Japan Social Welfare Legal Person Furusatokai in Shiga, and hoped to deepen the cooperation between HWU and related institutions in Shiga.

President Hisako nishimura expressed her heartfelt gratitude to our hospitality and appreciation to the characteristics and achievements of HWU. She also exchanged her views on such issues as women’s organizations, women's participation in administration and discussion of the state affairs, and women’s rights with the leaders of the Hunan Women’s Federation.
