Ten students of HWU had been in Woosuk University South Korea for a cultural experience program from August 16th to August 22nd,2015.

About 40 students from such countries as China, South Korea, Indonesia and Uzbekistan took part in the cultural experience program which was organized by Woosuk University and sponsored by the Ministry of Education of South Korea. The students learned the Korean language, the traditional Korean martial arts tae kwon do, and the traditional Korean etiquette, customs and culture. Woosuk University also organized a special tour to the Korean Folk Culture Village where the students learned the traditional Korean meeting & drinking etiquette, archery and the tai chi fan making, experiencing history and reality in the beautiful Korean dresses. The students also marveled at the traditional stage play A Biography of Chunhyang, feeling that true arts were beyond languages and boundaries.

The students worked hard, observed carefully and exchanged sincerely in the cultural experience program, through which they got to know the advantages & the future prospect of Jeollabuk-do and South Korea, the teaching characteristics and style of Woosuk University, and got acquainted with the friends around the world. The activity further expanded the exchange and cooperation between HWU and Woosuk University. Prior to the departure, the calligraphy work of “close neighbors separated by a mere strip of water” written by a HWU student was presented to Woosuk University, expressing the wishes for the cooperation between both institutions.(Written by Ms. Xiong Li from the International Education Center and Translated by Ms. Long Min from the International Affairs Office)
