In order to intensify the cultural exchange between China & Thailand and promote the multi level educational cooperation between two institutions, a 7-student delegation headed by Ms. Wang Geng, deputy director of the Division of Student Affairs of HWU paid a visit to Thailand for a summer vacation cultural exchange program at the invitation of Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU) in Thailand from Sep.1^st to Sep.10^th, 2015.

The program was implemented by the ASAN International Center of DPU. On the campus, the students learned the Thai language, the Thai culture and etiquette, making of garland & water lamp, culture of western food, cooking of Thai food and so on. The students benefited a lot from the meticulous Thai teachers who taught them with very flexible & diversified teaching methods. Off the campus, the students had a tour around the Grand Palace, appreciated the Thai people’s attention to Buddhism, and watched the opera in Thailand. In this way, they got further understanding of the history and culture of Thailand. On the last day, the Thai teachers showed us around the Sriracha Tiger Zoo and the sea. Facing the sea, they were wild with joy.

During these ten days, the students also had chance to contact the local civilians who had strong sense of religious belief and led a slow-paced life. The students were deeply impressed by the customs of Thailand and the simple Thai people.

A hard journey is also a happy journey. The students have got an understanding of the true meaning of the tour study through sight-seeing, action and cultural exchange.
