On May 28^th, 2016, the First High-Level Forum on Industry & Education of Elderly Care and Domestic Service Industry in China was Held in the gymnasium of HWU. More than 200 experts and scholars from home and abroad and over 1000 students participated in this forum.

Keynote Speech by President Yang Lanying of HWU

President Yang Lanying delivered a keynote speech on “Train High Quality Talent to Promote the Development of Home Service Industry”.

President Yang Lanying and Ms. Tang Mingju, deputy general manager of Taiping Senior Living Management Co., Ltd, which is a branch of China Taiping Insurance Group, signed a university-enterprise cooperation agreement. Mr. Wei Lin, general manager of Taiping Senior Living Management Co., Ltd made a speech.

Keynote speech by Mr. Jonathan Tapner, president of the international operations of Watermark Retirement Communities

Mr. Tapner introduced the demand of the professional talents and training model in the US senior living industry, while Prof. Zhang Chengjin elucidated the model and experience of the elderly care service in Japan and Taiwan and analyzed the current problems, developing trend and responsive thinking of the talent training in senior living industry in China. Prof. Yi Songguo shared his points on the current status and developing trend of the home health care in China. Moreover, Ms. Liu Baoping gave an introduction to the investment and management scheme of Taiping Senior Living Management Co., Ltd, and gave some suggestions on how to train related talents in higher institutions.

The forum with the theme of “New Industry•New Model•New Development” aims to positively cope with China’s population aging, promote the integration and cooperation between higher institutions and enterprises, advance the training of the senior living and domestic service talents, improve the quality in the senior living and domestic service industry, and meet people’s ever-expanding demand of high quality senior living and domestic service.
