On December 16th, the Woosuk University delegation, consisting of Mr. Jun-Hao Song, Director of the International Exchanges Department and Ms.Ha-Ny Ko, the superintendent of international projects, visited HWU and signed a cooperation memorandum with HWU.

The signing ceremony and forum were held at the conferrence room in the office building of HWU and were hosted by Ms Gao Qinli, Director of International Affairs Office of HWU.

During the meeting, Professor Tang Yubing (Dean of Art Design Department of HWU and Assistant President of HWU) and Professor Fu Liuming (Dean of Tourism Management Department) respectively introduced the discipline characteristics and its achievements. Mr. Jun-Hao Song gave a presentation about the history, disciplines, curricular system of Woosuk University. Both parties have voiced the will of becoming sister universities with each other and specifically discussed such cooperation projects as teachers exchanges, students exchanges and joint education program, etc. Professor Wang Fenghua, Director of Teaching Affairs Division and Associate Professor Xiong Li, Vice-director of International Education Center also have attended the meeting.

After the meeting, the Korean guests visited HWU Achievement Exhibition Room and Designed Costumes Exhibition Room. The guests spoke highly of HWU’s achievements and hoped to establish the relation of sister universities as soon as possible to initiate the cooperation projects.

Woosuk University was established in 1979 and is situated in Jeonju, Korea. It is listed among the Korean four-year universities by Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. It has 10,000 students, 57 majors and offers undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D courses. Woosuk University attaches importance to international cooperation and exchanges and its strategy is to internationalize and globalize education. Therefore, it has established cooperation and exchange relationships with more than 100 universities or colleges from 21 countries.

At the moment, the agreements for establishing the relationship of sister universities and its related cooperation projects are under discussion and drafting.
