A trio including Mr. John Robert Hargrave, president of East Central University, Ms Mara Emmanvilovna Sukholutskaya, director of ECU International Education Center and Mr. Wang Jinxin, the superintendent of Chinese Affairs Office paid a visit to Hunan Women’s University on September 18th. The two parties signed a cooperation agreement, announcing that they had been paired into sister schools.

Vice President of Hunan Women’s University, Mr. Li Junbo presided over the signing ceremony and the forum. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, President Luo Ting introduced HWU discipline construction, talent-training pattern, school-running characteristics, achievements of running school and international exchange, Meanwhile, hoping to strengthen the exchange and cooperation of American higher education, building friendly cooperation relationship with ECU, widening HWU`s international communication, promoting our international awareness and school-running level. Mr. John Robert Hargrave demonstrated an age-old history of East Central University as well as its general conditions regarding the layout of specialties and curricula, extolling accomplishments obtained by HWU, and expecting a variety of cooperation programs with HWU in the domain of scholar exchange and joint-training. Huang Lihong, Vice President, Gao Qinli, director of HWU`s International Affairs Office and Xiong Li, deputy director of HWU`s International Education Center were present at the conference. Whereafter, the delegation of East Central University was shown around our exhibition halls where the accomplishments of school running, a history of female education, as well as designed costumes were displayed, and Art Performance Department.

After the meeting, the International Affairs Office of the two parties will draft the cooperation plan and details between the two universities.
