On the afternoon of March 27^th, Yang Yating, the runner-up of the world final competition of 2013 World Urban Tourism Miss (WUTM) returned to Hunan Women’s University (HWU) with honor. Leaders including Party Secretary Yi Yinzhen, President Luo Ting, Vice President Huang Lihong and Zhou Meilin warmly received her and expressed their congratulations on her in the meeting room on the second floor of the Office Building.

The competition of the World Urban Tourism Miss (WUTM) this year was fiercely competitive, for there were 100,000 beautiful contestants in the Chinese region. Thanks to her beauty, enthusiasm and multi talents, after her winning the 4^th place in the final competition in China of the 2012 WUTM, she entered the world finals of the 2013 WUTM held in the Grand Theatre of Bansko, a well-known ski resort in the Republic of Bulgaria. After the grueling competition of national costume show, evening dress show and swim suit show, Yang finally got the runner-up, Miss Elegant, and Best National Costume Award, becoming the biggest winner in that evening.

Leaders of HWU offered their congratulations on Yang Yating’s achievements, highly praised her for the honor brought to HWU, Hunan even China by her, and also affirmed what achieved by Tourism Management Department in recent years. They hoped that the department would continue to innovate on working pattern to cultivate female talents with high quality. The winner Yang Yating expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the education and cultivation of HWU by saying: “It is the characteristic schooling that provides solid foundation for me to be outstanding in the competition, and it is the three years’ study in HWU that rewards me with the comprehensive strength for this competition.” She also uttered that after the competition, she would further her study on English language and general knowledge in her spare time after work. All the leaders hoped that she would carry forward the spirit of “self esteem, confidence, independence and self renewal”, set up lofty ideal to keep study and improve oneself, and make contribution to the transmission of the HWU culture, Huxiang culture and Chinese culture to the world.
