On the morning of April 25th, 2013, Professor Hyung-Sik Choi, the director of Sino-Korea Exchange Division of Howon University paid a visit to Hunan Women’s University. The meeting presided by Ms. Gao Qinli, director of International Affairs Division of HWU, was held in the Second Floor of the Office Building. Those who attended the meeting included Professor Tang Yubing, assistant to the president and dean of Art Design Department, Ms. Niu Xiaofei, director of Air Service Teaching & Research Office of Tourism Management Department and the working staff from International Exchange Division and International Education Center.
At first, Ms. Gao Qinli gave an introduction to the school running history, characteristics and achievements of HWU. Then Ms. Tang Yubing and Niu Xiaofei respectively gave a detailed description of the features and achievements of the specialties of their departments. Professor Hyung-Sik Choi expressed his heartfelt gratitude to HWU for the warm reception and gave a brief account of the history, specialty establishment and curriculum system of Howon University. He also hoped that this exchange would deepen the understanding of both universities, explore new cooperation mode and undergo effective cooperation to promote co-development of both universities. After that, both sides discussed on the details of the coming student exchange programs and expressed the desire to become sister universities. In the end, a cooperation memo was signed by Ms. Gao Qinli and Mr. Hyung-Sik Choi. After the meeting, Mr. Hyung-Sik Choi was led to visit the Dress Design Exhibition Hall of HWU.
Howon University, founded in 1977, is a private four-year university located in Gunsan, which is the biggest and the most important seaport in Jeollabukdo. Howon University has grown to have 33 departments in seven respective colleges including the College of Technology, National Defense, Tourism, Social Science, Physique Convoy, Welfare & Health Care and Broadcasting & Art, 8 affiliates including the library and 9 institutes including Xinwanjin Tourism Institute and Automobile Industry Institute. As a result of the endeavors of 300 faculty members and 7000 students, it was selected to promote the Education Capacity Enhancement Project (ECEP) in 2009 and 2010.
