On the morning of April 12^th, 2013, a meeting with the theme of Development of Student’s International Exchange hosted by International Education Center was held successfully on the Second Floor of the Office Building. President Luo Ting, Vice President Huang Lihong, Zhou Meilin, Chen Chiping, and the persons in charge of the Teaching Affairs Division, Student Affairs Office, International Affairs Division and all the departments attended the meeting.

At first, Ms. Xiong Li, assistant dean of International Education Center gave a report on the development of student’s international exchange program of Hunan Women’s University. So far about 50 students participated in diverse short term exchange programs mainly in Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and the United States.

In the meeting, all the attendees expressed their own viewpoints on some problems, for example, introduction of foreign intelligence, development & operation of international programs, international exchange among the teachers, credit certification, talent training, student management etc. The atmosphere was lively and impassioned. Vice President Huang Lihong, Zhou Meilin, Chen Chiping also expressed their original opinions on these issues.

In the end, President Luo Ting fully affirmed the international exchange and cooperation of HWU and put forward her ardent expectation toward the progress of the international exchange and education in the future. She uttered that as a member of Women’s Education Worldwide, HWU should broaden the international vision, upgrade the schooling level with the help of this excellent platform, continue to enhance the exchange with foreign higher education institutions especially the well-known women’s colleges and universities, and strengthen the foreign intelligence introduction especially the introduction of highly qualified professionals. HWU will encourage the teaching staff members to actively apply for the program sponsored by China Scholarship Council and the program of foreign senior visiting scholar to intensify the teaching, scientific research and innovation ability of the teaching staff. At the same time, HWU will strive to obtain the qualification of recruiting international students and develop international student’s education to expand the international influence of HWU. What’s more, HWU will intensify the management of international cooperation & exchange programs to make it more scientific, standardized and systematic.

This meeting concluded the achievements of the international exchange, and made clear the key points and the targets of our future work. Therefore, it is favorable for the quick development of the international work and for the improvement of the school running standard of HWU.
