The Fifth Hunan “Dongting Cup” National Instrumental Music Competition co-hosted by Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Hunan Provincial Institute of National Orchestral Music came to an end in the end of October in Changsha. More than 300 students from Hunan, Hubei, Guangxi and Jiangxi etc. took part in the fierce final competition.

Three students Pan Cheng, Teng Ying and Li Danyang from the Art Performance Department of Hunan Women’s University won four golden medals because of their excellent performance with cucurbit flute and zither. At the same time, their two supervisors Professor Zhang Jianzhuang, specialized in cucurbit flute, and Madam Li Li, specialized in zither also gained the Award of Outstanding Supervisor.
