On November 19th, the Third National Symposium on Female College Students’ Employment and Entrepreneurship held by HWU came to a successful end. During the meeting, the representatives of the National Education Ministry, Human Resource and Social Security Ministry, Hunan Provincial Education Department and Provincial Women’s Federation gathered around and gave significant speeches. The other attendees included scholars, entrepreneurs, media workers, etc. were mainly from 40 or so universities like Peking University, Central China Normal University, China Women’s University, Shandong Women’s University, Central South University, Hunan University.

 

The seminar was hosted by China Women’s University Consortium and co-organized by HWU and Hunan Information and Career Center for the Junior College and Technical Secondary School Students. It started from the discussion of the female college students’ opportunities and challenges in employment and entrepreneurship in the network era, and it put forward by following the guidance of the National Education Ministry. The seminar aimed to inspire female college students on research and innovation, to dig out more space for their employment and entrepreneurships, and to enhance their skills for better careers in the future.

  

Ms. Yang Lanying, president of HWU presided over the opening meeting, Ms. Luo Ting, party secretary of HWU and director of CWUC stated the welcome speech. Lei Zhaozi, director of China Higher Education Student Information and Career Center of the National Education Ministry, Cong Xiangqun, director of the College Graduates Employment Promotion Division of the National Human Resource Ministry, Ge Jianzhong, deputy director-general of Hunan Provincial Education Department, Zhang Yuanyuan, vice-president of Human Women’s Federation, Liu Liqun, president of China Women’s University and director of CWUC attended the symposium and presented speeches.

During the symposium, 12 experts and scholars from the provincial career center, enterprises, industry associations, colleges and universities delivered splendid reports.The symposium also awarded 36 outstanding conference papers from the all 161 collected papers, among which include 6 first prizes, 12 second prizes and 18 third prizes.
