On Nov.7th, 2017, the one week long 2017 International Student Exchange Exhibition Concluded. Prof. Luo Ting, chair of the University Council paid much attention to it. President Yang Lanying and vice president Li Junbo also visited the exhibition and gave the organizers some suggestions.
There were three parts in the exhibition: theme panels for show, a series of seminars of overseas study by the representatives of the cooperative institutions, and international lectures by the foreign teachers of HWU. The exhibition was held on the Cultural Square on the North Campus of HWU, where a series of panels about the exchange in different countries were displayed. The students could also consult those students and staff members who took part in the international programs face to face. The exhibition which boasted vivid pictures and rich contents attracted numerous students and teachers.
Leaders of HWU have been supporting the international exchange and are looking forward to an international education with women’s characteristics. Prof. Luo Ting pointed that the international exchange of HWU should serve the discipline construction, talent training and scientific research. She also emphasized that the International Affairs Office should expand the student exchange with the colleges and universities overseas.
On the morning of Nov.2nd, president Yang Lanying and vice president Li Junbo attended the exhibition. She complimented the international student exchange in recent years. Furthermore, she hoped that all the staff members would work together to think about the future of the international exchange and make more progress.
In recent years, HWU has established partnership and conducted academic exchange with a diversity of universities and institutions including East Central University in USA, one of the few universities which offer scholarship to the out-of-state students, and Kyushu Women’s University, very special in their programs, and some comprehensive universities such as West Sydney University in Australia, UPM in Malaysia and Wooksuk University in South Korea. At the same time of conducting short term international study program and dual degree program, the International Affairs Office have also expanded a diversity of overseas internship program.
So far, more than 200 students of HWU have international study experience in colleges and universities in USA, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Thailand etc. (Written by Zhou Xiang and translated by Long Min from the International Affairs Office)
